The idea of the Harmony Therapy Trust was born in March 2010, whilst the founder, Dawn Cockburn was visiting her terminally ill sister Sylvia in Fairlight, Hastings. Sylvia had received holistic therapy from the Sara Lee Trust during her cancer journey. At that time there was nothing similar available for people in Kent who had terminal illnesses, unless they were attending a hospice or knew a therapist willing to treat free of charge. As a Reflexologist herself, who knew many therapists, Dawn felt that the logical step forward was to coordinate the therapists and establish the Harmony therapy Trust providing free treatment in Kent.

Why is Holistic Therapy so important to patients?
Touch is the oldest form of therapy and when you are ill, the caring touch of a therapist, or even someone to offer a listening ear, gives a sense of being nurtured. More importantly, these therapies are noninvasive and can support medical treatment by relaxing the patient, uplifting the spirit and improving nerve and blood supply to the body.
PATIENTS MUST BE REFERRED BY THEIR HEALTH CARE PROVIDER, ie GP, NURSE, ONCOLOGIST, etc.
